Maya in Practice
Over three workshops at Brushstrokes Community Centre with Spectra, I co-facilitated a creative exploration of Maya (illusion) – the illusion of separation between humans and nature. We moved from collage and conversation to collaborative photography, then finished with powerful mask-making representing “masks” of modern civilisation, forces such as pollution, extraction, consumption, and convenience that obscure our interconnectedness with the living world. Each session deepened our shared inquiry, turning abstract ideas into tangible, emotional art. Grateful to the Brushstrokes community and Spectra for making this research & development phase so rich.
